Why your organization needs to be NIS2 compliant
The NIS2 directive applies to organizations in critical sectors as well as their suppliers. Not complying not only means risk of fines and reputational damage, but especially the loss of trust from customers and partners.

The status of the NIS2 in the Netherlands
The NIS2 directive has officially been in effect within the European Union since Oct. 17, 2024.
In the Netherlands, however, implementation has been delayed: the national Cyber Security Act (Cbw), which transposes the directive into Dutch law, is not expected to take effect until spring 2026.
That means no immediate legal obligations yet, but organizations would be wise to start preparing now.
