The standard is a further specification of a part of the NEN 7510 focused on logging and provides for the systematic automated recording of data surrounding access to the patient record, which enables verification of its legitimacy. This standard provides healthcare providers with guidance on logging and use of logging to meet legal obligations and provides information system developers with a set of requirements that their systems will need to meet.
